With Owens Corning, sustainability is built right into your project.

Buildings account for about 40 percent of the energy consumed globally. That is more than industry or the transportation sector. Owens Corning is committed to energy efficiency in the built environment. Our overarching philosophy of Corporate Stewardship helps us operate our manufacturing plants in a manner that helps protect the environment, and helps us work to protect the health and safety of our employees and neighbors.

We understand the environmental impact of our manufacturing facilities, from the processing of raw materials to the consumption of resources during production and the resulting emissions. A major innovation in our foam operations is achieving a 70 percent reduction in one plant’s greenhouse gas emissions.

More than 120 million homes and 70 billion square feet of commercial buildings in the United States account for about 40 percent of the total energy consumed and more than 70 percent of the electricity used in the United States, according to the U.S. Department of Energy and the Alliance to Save Energy. Energy use is expected to grow 35 percent by 2025. Many countries have an enormous need for housing and new buildings as populations rise and economic development brings new demand for resources.

We see sustainability as a core business strategy, and encourage you to join us in improving energy efficiency in your projects.

In addition to its leadership in using and creating recyclable materials and developing sustainable processes, Owens Corning is active advising policy makers, communities, the industry and consumers to advance energy efficiency.
